- As of March 2004 alpha test versions of ball&stick4 for MacOS X (tested for 10.3.3 compatibility only)
are available to qualified individuals upon request.

Development history

Due to the unclear state of pascal compilers for MacOS X,
we had frozen the development of B&S as of December 2000.
- In March 2001 first tests were done on porting with a prerelease pascal compiler.
- (9/2001): Development continued, a new Macintosh (Cube) was purchased for MacOS X development.
- (3/2003): We had a first development version running on MacOS X 10.2., but it could not print. Click for a screenshot!
Ball & Stick for Mac OS 8 and 9 (including Classic)
Until ball&stick for Mac OS X is finished, the versions 3.7.6
and 3.8b3 have been made available for free via download, as a service to the Macintosh community in molecular sciences. But we retain all rights to the software.
The free version Ball & Stick 3.8b3 is for Macintosh with PowerPC processors (including iMacs, eMacs, PowerBooks, and PowerMacs) only, earlier versions also work on Motorola 68000 based Macintosh compatible computers!
